It is a common thought that technology in Spain isn't as developed as in the UK. This is not the case, just that there are less suppliers of various services and therefore solutions can be harder to find. Broadband internet access and telephone lines are available in most areas and are supplied by the Spanish National Telephone Organisation, Telefonica.

There are certain areas that simply aren't covered by Telefonica and in these instances Broadband and telephone lines can be supplied via microwave technology (requiring the installation of a small satellite) by a company called Fonetica. There are also a number of organisations who will supply web design and hosting and numerous suppliers of IT hardware and companies who are able to repair and service IT equipment.
